What Goes Into a Wattle Grove Candle
Every candle is 100 percent soy wax with a pure cotton wick, hand poured in Australia. The scents are built on essential oils, including eucalyptus grown and steam distilled on our own farm at Buckleboo in South Australia.
Because they are poured by hand, no two are quite identical. You may see slight frosting on the surface or small air bubbles in the wax, and the handblown glass carries its own markings. Neither affects how the candle burns. They are simply the marks of something made by a person rather than a machine.

Soy Candles
Soy burns differently to paraffin, and slower. A 195g soy pour gives around 40 hours where a paraffin candle of the same size gives noticeably less, and it burns at a lower temperature, which is why the scent releases steadily rather than all at once in the first hour.
It also washes out. When the candle is finished, warm the vessel, wipe it clean and the glass is yours to keep.
Aromatherapy Candles
An aromatherapy candle is only as good as what is in it.
Ours are built on essential oils rather than fragrance oils, which is why they read cleaner and lighter in a room and why the scent fades honestly instead of hanging around.
Eucalyptus + Lavender is the one most people reach for at the end of the day. Vetiver + Patchouli holds a larger room after dark. Bergamot + Green Tea suits a kitchen or a workspace.

Made Here, From Our Own Oil
Wattle Grove is a family owned farm at Buckleboo in South Australia. We grow polybractea eucalyptus on our own land, harvest it on farm and distil the oil on site. That oil goes into these candles.
Everything is made in Australia in small batches. Being Australian made is the supply chain, not a badge.

How to Get 40 Hours From a Candle
Most candles never reach their stated burn time, and it is almost always down to the first hour.
The first burn matters most
Let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the glass the first time you light it. That usually takes two to three hours. Put it out early and the candle will tunnel down the middle, and you will lose wax down the sides for the rest of its life.
Trim the wick
Trim to about 5mm before every burn. An untrimmed wick burns hot, smokes and eats through the wax faster.
Four hours maximum
Longer burns overheat the glass and shorten the life of the candle. Put it out, let the wax set, light it again later.
Reuse the glass
Warm the finished vessel to loosen the last of the wax, wipe it out and keep it. It works as a brush pot, a small planter, or a holder for whatever needs one.

About Our Candles
Our candles are individually hand poured and crafted, meaning there can be slight variations between each candle such as frosting or small air bubbles, neither of which affects the quality. Their imperfections are what makes them perfect.
Due to the hand made manufacturing process, each vessel will be uniquely patterned and slight imperfections in glassware shape may be visible.
Essential oils work well for holding scent in soy wax. They burn more slowly so the scent is gradually released as opposed to an immediate wave of a strong scent. This creates a more pleasant atmosphere that adds aromatherapy benefits.
